CNG Facilities

SEI owns and operates 4 Compressed Natural Gas refuelling facilities, 1 on-site at Brisbane City Council’s Willawong bus depot and 3 at various Transport for NSW bus depots in metro Sydney.

These facilities take conventional natural gas and compress it to pressures in the vicinity of 200 Bar that is then stored in high pressure cylinders. The CNG is then dispensed to dedicated CNG busses as a cleaner alternative to conventional Diesel fuel. 

Approximately 500 CNG buses are fuelled via SEI’s refuelling facilities utilising ~650Tj of gas per annum.
